Halibut heartbreak….. Today we had great weather, beautiful bate and 20 fishermen ready for action. We had at least 5 halibut on the line throughout the trip. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get a single halibut in the boat. For what ever reason, every halibut we got on the line got off the line. It was definitely a tough pill to swallow. We stretched the trip out as long as possible in order to get some rockfish on the boat so everyone didn’t go home empty handed. Tomorrow is a new day and I know where 5 halibut with sore lips are. Hopefully we’ll get another chance at getting them in the boat.
