At 3 pm today we set out to catch rockfish for 17 anglers. The bay was covered with thick smoke from all of the California fires. Everyone was happy to head out of the bay to the blue skies and fresh air. Once we were far enough off shore to be in the clear we started working on getting fish into the boat. The wind did pick up, which made for an adventurous ride, but our anglers were able to get it done.. As the weather continued to deteriorate, we were forced to fall back to more comfortable seas. The fishing was a mixed bag. Some anglers caught 12-15 fish while others had a tougher time. All in all, we ended up quite decently for an afternoon trip, landing 115 fish in total.
Our thoughts are with all of our fishing friends and family that are suffering from the fires. Hang in there!
