The day greeted us with serious thunder storms off shore which were pretty awesome to see in the early hours. Despite all of the thunder and lightning the seas were calm and warm. Fishing with a full load of passengers we caught lots of perfect live bait for halibut. Squid schools were up along with 6-8 inch mackerel. But….. despite the fantastic weather and premium bait, the halibut decided they didn’t want to play with us. We ended the day with 2 keepers and 2 shakers (too short). Like the saying goes, sometimes you catch fish and sometimes you go fishing.
