Slow, slow day for salmon today. We started out fishing near Fort Ord….. No bites. We tried Mulligan hill… no bites and on and on it went. I decided after trying 4 or 5 different ares without so much as a scratched bait to head out west of the peninsula. Still no luck on the salmon, but, as we got closer to the rocks we started catching really nice rockfish. Every one on board ended up getting a nice bag of rockfish to take home. We were still trying for salmon though and we ended up hooking a nice big thresher shark. Unfortunately, that big shark bit through the line right below the surface. We great a great look at it and we waved as he went back into the deep blue with a couple quick flicks of the tail. Better luck next time.
