Some how several Captains logs have vanished from the tablet. So….. rather than trying to remember everything that happened day by day, I’ll give you a brief rundown. Salmon fishing was really good all through the week. Several days of limits, even crew fish a couple of times. We had scores like 36, 32, 52 etc. All of the sudden when the weekend rolled around the bottom just fell out and the hot bite stopped.
Today, we started out in front of Moss landing with no success. We ended up moving back south towards Monterey, where we ran across some nice big piles of anchovies. With 10 anglers on board We stuck it out all day landing 6 keeper salmon. There were several missed bites, spit hooks and a couple shakers that had to go back. Hopefully next time we’ll be able to capitalize more on our opportunities.
