Happy Easter everyone! Today was a fantastic day for wild King salmon in Monterey Bay. We ended the day with 36 fish for 23 anglers. The fish were shallow all day and they were hot fish too. Most of our fish were over 10 lbs. Several fish in the 15 to 20 lb range came in. I’m pretty sure that we actually lost more fish at the surface than we landed. A lot of the fish that we hooked ended up spitting the hook at the surface and we missed several bites. Sum all of that up and you can imagine how much action and excitement there was today. I hope these beautiful fish stick around and continue to bite like this.
