We started our day with some serious weather today. There were big swells and plenty of wind chop to go around, but our 9 anglers were intrepid and ready for action. Starting out in 170 feet of water west of the point we caught doubles and singles of nice blue fish. As the current dragged the boat southwest to deeper water we began catching nice yellows and olives. It didn’t take us long to fill out limits for the boat and crew. This morning we had a delay in our departure because we were waiting to see if one of the other companies needed us to take their passengers out. They resolved whatever issue there was so they didn’t need us to cover. That being said, we didn’t get off the dock until 0700 and I wanted to make up the long wait to everyone on board. After we got our limits of rockfish we went and found a Humpback whale to look at, which everyone enjoyed. We also found a large pod of Risso’s dolphins that gave us great looks. All in all it was a pretty nice trip for us.
