Bottom fish, bottom fish, bottom fish!
Mother nature decided to test our anglers today. While searching for a good starting spot it became apparent we were in for a hoot and a half. After trying our luck with a few small, fast moving schools of fish, the decision was made to change location and approach. A favored local spot for bottom fish was our saving grace. Gopher rockfish led the charge but were soon followed by nice copper and canary rockfish. After covering a bit of ground we stumbled into an area with some big vermillion rockfish and even a 20 pound Ling cod fattened an already nice bag of fish for the man we all know here at J and M as “Johnny Rock Cod”. A hard fought 8 hour trip warranted many smiling faces and very nice bags of fish.
