The best day of fishing I we have had in some time. The sunrise sky was as clear as I have ever seen it. Flat calm seas and great fishing. We stayed local but with a small group of fishermen we were able to be very picky about what fish we dropped on. After starting off strong with Vermillion, Olive and Yellowtail rockfish things went somewhat quiet for a while but that was short lived. We pushed a couple miles south and found some big and I mean BIG fish looking for food. It was hard to tell who had the biggest fish on the day. Big Verms, Canarys and some huge Yellowtails flooded in with the occasional Bocaccio. All in all one of my favorite trips in recent memory.
