Another demerit will be assigned to the personnel involved in the prediction of the marine weather. The forecast for today was brutal. According to the forecast we were meant to have 40 knots of wind today. I went so far as to tell our anglers that if it got too rough we were going to have to cut the trip short for safety reasons. Fortunately for us the weather forecast was totally wrong as far as timing goes. The most wind we had the entire trip was about 10 knots.
Moving along, Deckhand Daniel and I went fishing with 3 anglers today. Unfortunately 3 more anglers were booked but didn’t make it . That ended up being great news for our 3 anglers who got to take home 8 Dungeness and 1 Rock crab each along with a pile of dabs and small Spanish mackerel. As stated previously, the weather was fantastic and the fish were on a moderate bite. We ended up at 24 Dungeness, 3 Rock crab, 1 Petrale sole, 85 Dabs and 40 Spanish mackerel. Not a bad day at all to spend on the ocean over here in Monterey.
We have plenty of room for fishing right now due to it being winter and having this apocalypse thing going on and all.
